Motivation is like a sparkler. It can be lit in an instant, but when you forget to feed it the right fuel, it will quickly fizzle out into nothing.

Luckily for you, this blog post has all of the tricks and tips you need in order to stay motivated throughout your every day struggles.

1. Find inspiration in the little things.

No, not the struggle of having to get out of bed and tie your shoes, but the thrill of finally completing a task, or the satisfaction of making it to work on time. This task which you complete will help you to develop will power and be able to  accomplish more tasks ,by finishing what's on hand no matter how little it may seem may lead to more work achieved at the end of the day. Think of it has a snowball effect where one small ball of snow rolls over accumulating more snow has it is rolling ,which  eventually leads to a huge snow ball . This is the same in  our own real life situations ; the small tasks completed adds up to one big task completed at the end of the day.

Just because you're a naturally negative person doesn't mean you can't find a way to stay motivated. It's a lot easier than you might think! Keep going when you feel like giving up. If your motivation is fizzling out, try finding another way to inspire yourself. You could look at a picture that makes you happy, or maybe just something that makes you laugh.

2. Start journaling

 Write in your journal. At first you may feel silly doing this, but it can really be a great way to stay motivated. You can write down what you're struggling with, or describe the struggles in detail.

When I started journaling I started realizing that I was not easily distracted and tended to more present because all the thoughts which I had were listed down which led me to gain clarity and see the real issue which was affecting me . So I can say that by journaling you can easily get clear with your thoughts and see the real cause of your problem.

3. Have a clear goal and plan.

By setting a clear  goal which is big enough and following up with a plan to back it up , you are able to stay motivated .

The reason most of the people lack motivation is because most of them lack a clear goal with a definite plan to back it up which later leads them to feel unmotivated. The way you can approach you goal setting is by;

  • First decide on what you want  to achieve or what you are willing to be dedicated to,  because you don't want to be set a goal on something which you only do for money as the main goal instead you should do something which is your life's calling and is worth overcoming the adversities that come with it.
  • Second part is to write down the goal and specify . This is how you can go about when writing your goals by using the ' SMART ' abbreviation
S-S is for specific .Your goal should be linked to one activity ,thought or idea. e.g. Starting a doughnut shop

M-  for Measurable . Your goal should be something you can track and measure progress toward.

A- for Actionable . There should be clear tasks or actions you can take to be able to make progress

R- for realistic . It should be a goal which you believe that with your capabilities that it is absolutely attainable.

T- for timely . The goal you set should be able to fall within a specific time period.

  • Tell someone- It is very important to  have an accountability partner who you can share your goal with so that when you fail to follow your goal , he/she is able to remind you to do so . By having such a partner you are able to stay consistent to your plan and most likely to achieve it .

  • Break your goal down - Big goals may seem discouraging and unattainable but by breaking them down into small chunks which are attainable you are more likely to achieve them. Here is you can do that ;

First you start with the SOMEDAY GOAL ( THE BIG GOAL) by asking yourself what is the one thing you want to do someday and write it somewhere

Second you proceed to the 5 YEAR GOAL and ask yourself  ''what's the one thing I can do in the next 5 years to come?"  and write it some where also.

After that you want to proceed to the 1 YEAR GOAL and see what goal you are able to achieve within 1 YEAR based on the 5 year goal.

There after you proceed to the MONTHLY GOAL and see which goal you are able to achieve within a  month based on the 1 year goal.

Then head to the WEEKLY GOAL and see which goal you are able to achieve within a week based on the monthly goal

Later you head to the DAILY GOAL and see which goal you are able to do on a daily basis based on the weekly goal

Lastly is the RIGHT NOW GOAL ,this is the goal which you should do right now and is within your capabilities which is also based on the weekly goal you wrote.

By doing this you are able to break  your big goal into small attainable goals which you can start doing immediately.

This are some of the tips I had to help you stay motivated and I hope they will be of value to you .
